I am currently in week 6 of my pregnancy. Can I sleep on my side, or will it cause any problems for the baby?
Artificial Intelligence Health Assistant's Answer

It is generally safe and recommended for pregnant women to sleep on their sides, especially during the second and third trimesters. Sleeping on your left side can improve blood flow to the placenta and help prevent issues like swelling and back pain. However, sleeping on your right side is also acceptable. Sleeping on your back should be avoided as it may lead to decreased blood flow to the uterus and potentially increase the risk of stillbirth. If you find it uncomfortable to sleep solely on one side, using a pregnancy pillow or placing a pillow between your legs can provide additional support and comfort. As always, consult with your healthcare provider for personalized advice based on your specific circumstances.

Apparently its better to sleep on your side --the left side specifically , don't know why though.

It reduces pressure on the vena cava and increases blood flow to your baby when you sleep on left.

It is recommended after a certain week for you to sleep on your left side, so at 6 weeks you're fine. If you sleep on your back your uterus can squish on an artery, that's why they say the left side. If I lay on my back or right side, my left arm and hand goes numb. As soon as I roll to my left, it comes back.

Hey Hi dear, I am not an expert but what I have read on internet and same my doc also told 'we should sleep on the sides and preferred is left' during any time of pregnancy'.

And avoid sleeping straight on back. So you are doing the right thing
