I had a miscarriage before and my doctor prescribed me duphastone with folic acid once I found out I conceived again. I'm currently 5 weeks and 2 days pregnant and experiencing lower abdominal pain. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

Lower abdominal pain during early pregnancy can be common, but it's always important to consult with your healthcare provider to rule out any potential complications, especially if you have a history of miscarriage. While some mild cramping is normal as the uterus expands, severe or persistent pain could indicate an issue such as an ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage. Your doctor may want to perform an ultrasound or other tests to evaluate the situation further. It's best not to ignore any unusual symptoms and seek medical advice for proper evaluation and guidance.

I had period like pain with my first pregnancy at about 5-6 weeks. And I've also had a little of the same this time. Nothing was wrong so I wouldn't worry, but if you are concerned then speak to your doctor to ease your worries

Hi Martha I am 4weeks 2 days preganant I am also experiencing lower abdominal cramps . I guess it's normal our uterus is trying to accommodate the newly implanted foetus  .( the anatomy of uterus is changing a bit )

I have been experiencing this pain soon after implantation( from 3rd week ) that's how I knew I am preganant even before my missed period  .Just don't worry , if your pain is so severe something which you can't bear I think you should see your doctor .

Hi Martha

Congrats,

Miscarriage experience leave every women lot of stress and worried.

Im 17 weeks and i also experienced pain in my lower abdominal but it felt different than when i miscarried 6 months ago. The pain i felt this time was short and uncomfortable but manageable and  its due to womb getting ready and expanding in size.

Stress can affect you so get in touch with your midwife or doctor to have peaceful mind.

Hope all goes well for you and your partner.

I had abdominal pain that resulted in pretty severe spotting...similar to a regular period.  I called my doctor and was put on progesterone and vitamin b.  I had to stay flat down for an entire week until the bleeding stopped and I was having blood draws regularly to check my hcg and progesterone levels and continued on progesterone medication and cream for another several weeks.  I am now 26 weeks with a healthy baby girl who within the past two weeks has really kicked up a storm.  It was such a traumatic experience as I wondered every day if I'd keep the baby but my hcg levels continued to rise quickly and with the progesterone my levels finally reached the level they needed and the baby attached well.  I've never had complicationsin the past with previous pregnancies but wanted to offer my story if it could help.  It was a miracle that everything turned out but it definitely wasn't without effort and staying close to my doctor.  Best regards!
