I am currently 7 weeks and 4 days pregnant, and my doctor has informed me that the growth is normal but there is no heartbeat yet. I am feeling worried. Can you please guide me on whether this is a normal occurrence or not?

It is understandable to feel concerned when there is no heartbeat detected at 7 weeks and 4 days of pregnancy. However, it is important to note that every pregnancy is unique, and the timing of when a heartbeat can be detected can vary. In some cases, the heartbeat may not be visible until later in the first trimester.

During early pregnancy, the fetal heart starts beating around 5-6 weeks gestation. However, it may take some time for the heartbeat to become detectable through ultrasound. Factors such as the position of the embryo or technical limitations of the ultrasound equipment can affect visibility.

If your doctor has assured you that the growth of your baby is normal, it could mean that everything else appears healthy despite not detecting a heartbeat yet. Your doctor will likely schedule a follow-up appointment to monitor progress and check for any changes.

It's important to remember that each pregnancy is different, and sometimes delays in detecting a heartbeat are simply due to individual variations rather than indicating a problem. However, if you experience any concerning symptoms like severe pain or heavy bleeding, it's crucial to contact your healthcare provider immediately.

In conclusion, while it can be worrisome not to detect a heartbeat at 7 weeks and 4 days of pregnancy, it does not necessarily indicate a problem. Continue following up with your healthcare provider for regular check-ups and monitoring. They will provide guidance based on your specific situation and ensure appropriate care throughout your pregnancy journey.

The same happened with me with my first pregnancy, not only that they handed me some abortion pills saying the heart doesn't beat and let's your body get ride of it. It was my husband who believed in the baby and said let's give it one more week. So we waited for week 8 and went to see another doctor and it was unbelievable we heard her heart beat so clearly through the Doppler that we both felt we were really flying up to the sky's I would say believe in your baby and give it another week.. that heart would beat louder than thunders
