This is my first time getting pregnant at 18 years old, and I'm engaged. I'm scared and nervous about the experience. Despite reading a lot, I still feel like there's so much I don't know. Can someone please provide guidance? I'm currently 2 weeks and 4 days into my pregnancy.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! It's completely normal to feel scared and nervous, especially if it's your first time. Here are some important things you should know:

  • Prenatal care: Schedule an appointment with an obstetrician or midwife as soon as possible. They will guide you through the entire process, monitor your health, and answer any questions you have.

  • Healthy lifestyle: Eat a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Avoid alcohol, smoking, drugs, and excessive caffeine intake. Stay physically active with exercises suitable for pregnancy.

  • Educate yourself: Read reliable sources such as books or websites dedicated to pregnancy and childbirth. Attend prenatal classes to learn about labor, breastfeeding techniques, newborn care, etc.

  • Emotional support: Surround yourself with supportive family members or friends who can offer guidance and reassurance throughout your journey.

  • Pregnancy symptoms: Understand that every woman experiences pregnancy differently. Common symptoms include morning sickness (nausea/vomiting), fatigue, breast tenderness, mood swings, frequent urination.

  • Regular check-ups: Attend all scheduled prenatal appointments for routine tests like blood pressure monitoring, urine analysis, ultrasounds to track fetal development.

  • Self-care: Take care of your mental well-being by practicing relaxation techniques like deep breathing exercises or meditation.

  • Safety precautions: Avoid exposure to harmful substances such as chemicals or certain medications without consulting your healthcare provider first.

Remember that each pregnancy is unique, and it's okay to have questions or concerns. Reach out to your healthcare provider whenever you need guidance or reassurance. Enjoy this special journey and congratulations again!

Hi. I'm a first time mother, around 6 weeks and also engaged. I'm due on 2nd April 2019 and an getting married on the 25th May 2019. Nothing like cutting it close!

I'm also very sacred and nervous, even more so after having a miscarriage earlier this year. Our first was planned but still unexpected when we found out so this time I feel more pressure to get it right (not that I did anything wrong last time)

Im on so many apps and have read and re read the free booklets in the baby pack and a book I have brought that I'm now getting to the point where it's just confusing. My advice to you would be just to enjoy it. If you have questions, talk to people not google. I've found my sister in law so helpful (they have 4 kids), if you want to read articles, go for it but try not to worry about the 'what if' and just went the moments.

I'm sure others who have been through pregnancy before can give some vettbe advice but as a new mother and one who has had a loss this is what I am trying to do

    Lots of love
