My breasts are leaking a thick, cloudy fluid at 8 weeks and 4 days of pregnancy. Is this normal and does it happen before milk production begins? Please help me understand what this could be. Thank you.

Yes, it is normal to experience breast leakage during pregnancy, even before milk production begins. The fluid you are experiencing is called colostrum, which is a precursor to breast milk. Colostrum is rich in antibodies and nutrients that provide essential support to the baby's immune system after birth. It is common for women to start producing colostrum as early as the second trimester of pregnancy. The amount and timing of colostrum production can vary from woman to woman. If you have concerns about the color or consistency of the fluid, it is always best to consult with your healthcare provider for further evaluation and guidance.

Yes it is normal, and it can happen as soon as 8 weeks. It is called colostrum, it is thick, translusent or yellowish. I usually woke up with a dry drop on my breast or both of them. Now i am  36 weeks pregnant and i have colostrum or milk drops dried on my breasts every morning. It is due to hormones and is a preparation for milk when the baby comes :)
