I'm six months pregnant, and my husband has lost interest in being intimate. He's worried about harming the baby, but I suspect he may not find me attractive anymore. How can I address this issue? Will his attraction towards me return after our baby is born?
Artificial Intelligence Health Assistant's Answer

It is common for couples to experience a decrease in intimacy during pregnancy due to various reasons such as physical discomfort, hormonal changes, or concerns about the baby's safety. To address this issue, open communication is key. Start by having an honest conversation with your husband about your feelings and concerns. Reassure him that sexual activity is generally safe during pregnancy unless advised otherwise by a healthcare professional.

Educate yourselves together about the safety of intimacy during pregnancy by consulting reliable sources or attending prenatal classes that cover this topic. Understanding the facts can help alleviate his worries.

It's important to remember that decreased desire may not be solely related to your appearance; it could be influenced by other factors like stress or fatigue. Discuss any underlying issues openly and support each other emotionally.

During this time, focus on nurturing emotional intimacy through non-sexual activities like cuddling, holding hands, or spending quality time together. Engage in activities that make you both feel connected and loved.

After childbirth, it's normal for couples to experience changes in their sex life due to physical recovery and adjusting to parenthood. While some men may experience a temporary decrease in attraction towards their partners post-birth due to various factors like exhaustion or anxiety, it doesn't mean they won't regain their desire over time.

Patience and understanding are crucial during this period of transition. Keep communicating openly with your partner about your needs and desires as well as any concerns he might have. Consider seeking professional help from a therapist specializing in sexual health if necessary.

Remember, every couple's journey is unique, and it's important to find what works best for you both. With time, patience, and open communication, you can navigate this phase together and strengthen your connection as a couple.

I too feel that i'm unattractive to my husband. People say that being pregnant makes you feel more sexy and beautiful. i so don't feel that way.

Your husband is actually being honest to you. Go with him to the doctors and they will explain. My husband used to think if we had sex the baby will be pocked and he wouldn't even think of it until the doctor said its actually better plus their are no need for condoms next thing I was thinking of ways to dodge sex
almost  every night. The longer you stay not fixing the no sex problem the longer it grows into a problem . Research sex positions for pregnant women spice up your chubby self. I honestly build my confidence in myself because he is right now thinking how will I be a good dad, how can I help when she goes through labor, omg what if thes loads of blood. You worry about affection . Stop you are your hubby's distraction coz if you dnt distracted him and show him his wanted too. His mind is scarying him that he wont do well at so many things. You tell him his got this he will come out of doctors hospital planning his next baby . And FYI WE NOT FAT !!!! WE ARE PREGNANT. Huge difference so enjoy the glow worry less coz if he comes home ur sad about no sex he wont feel like jumping you .he will join in on the pity party. Which is not good. 3rd pregnancy and am that mom that is pregnant not fat well iam 217 pounds. But still am pregnant not fat and the sex is amaizing. No condoms people or pills or contraceptives to make you feel weird.  Just back in the days Adam and eve sex.

I am 24 weeks pregnant myself. I know everyone says women are just beautiful& "glowing" while pregnant. Not so much! Not at all in my case either. But ladies we have a beautiful miracle happening inside of us as we speak! If your significant other doesn't see the beauty in that, then they ain't worth getting your self esteem down over. We are all beautiful in our own ways. Plus they say the baby steals your beauty, especially when your having a baby girl.
If you are not feeling attractive or your men are not giving you the props you deserve& need..talk to him! He may not even realize how he can make you feel. Communication is key! Especially for parents& parents to be.
