At the time of the stitch, anesthesia was given, but for its removal, the doctor said no anesthesia will be given. Can anyone explain the process?

The removal of a McDonald cervical stitch during pregnancy is typically a quick and straightforward procedure. While anesthesia may have been administered during the initial placement of the stitch, it is often not necessary for its removal. The doctor will carefully locate and grasp the stitch with forceps or a similar instrument. They will then gently pull on the stitch to remove it from the cervix. Some women may experience mild discomfort or cramping during this process, but it is generally well-tolerated. It's important to follow your doctor's instructions and communicate any concerns or questions you may have before undergoing this procedure.

Well... I've had two of those stitches.  The first one the doctor used dissolvable stitches and I wasn't required to return.  The second (and it sounds like this may pertain to your situation) I had to go back to the doctors' to have them removed.  No anesthesia; it feels like a sharp pinch- similar to getting a piercing but in your head you KNOW its NOT the same.
