I am supposed to be 7 weeks pregnant, but my scan showed that I am only 5 weeks along. I have been placed on progesterone injections, but I have been experiencing spotting for the past two days. When I visited the doctor, he said to wait until next week, but if the spotting becomes heavy like a period, I should come see him. Today, I am also experiencing mild cramps and lower backache. Could these symptoms be an indication that I will miscarry?
Artificial Intelligence Health Assistant's Answer

Spotting and cramping can sometimes be normal during early pregnancy, but they can also be signs of a potential miscarriage. It is important to consult with your healthcare provider for proper evaluation and guidance in your specific situation. While it is concerning to experience these symptoms, it does not necessarily mean that you will miscarry. Your doctor's advice to monitor the intensity of the spotting and seek further medical attention if it becomes heavier like a period is appropriate. Mild cramps and lower backache can also occur during pregnancy due to various reasons such as hormonal changes or stretching of ligaments in the uterus. However, if these symptoms worsen or are accompanied by severe pain or heavy bleeding, it is crucial to contact your healthcare provider immediately as they may indicate a more serious issue. Remember that every pregnancy is unique, and it is best to rely on professional medical advice tailored specifically for your situation rather than trying to self-diagnose or make assumptions based on general information alone.

No,I have a friend that went through something similar.she had cramping an spotting for the first 2an a half months.she is now 27 weeks pregnant with a baby girl ,as long as the cramping doesn't get real bad an your not bleeding heavily than you should be fine.try drinking some water throughout the day that might help with the cramping.congratulations an good luck❤️
