I am currently in my 20th week of pregnancy and have been experiencing itching and burning in my vagina for the past week. My doctor prescribed medication, but I still occasionally feel the same symptoms. Is this a normal occurrence during pregnancy or should I be concerned?
Artificial Intelligence Health Assistant's Answer

It is not uncommon for pregnant women to experience itching and burning in the vagina. This can be caused by hormonal changes, increased blood flow, or an overgrowth of yeast or bacteria. While medication can help alleviate these symptoms, it may not completely eliminate them. It is important to follow your doctor's advice and continue taking any prescribed medications as directed. Additionally, practicing good hygiene, wearing breathable underwear, avoiding irritants such as scented products, and maintaining a balanced diet can also help reduce discomfort. If the symptoms persist or worsen, it is advisable to consult with your healthcare provider for further evaluation and treatment options.

Apparently it is normal during pregnancy - vaginal Yeast infection. I'm 18 weeks and currently have it. I'm seeing my Dr tomorrow I don't want to self medicate something that might harmful for my baby.

I think it's best we get it checked out by a Doctor.

Thanks.
