Hi, I'm 12 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing frequent migraines and daily headaches, along with morning sickness. What can I do to find relief?

Pregnancy can bring about various changes in the body, including an increase in headaches and migraines. It's important to consult your healthcare provider for a proper diagnosis and guidance. In the meantime, here are some tips that may help alleviate your symptoms:

  • Identify triggers: Keep a headache diary to track potential triggers such as certain foods, stress, or lack of sleep. Avoiding these triggers may reduce the frequency of your headaches.

  • Stay hydrated: Dehydration can contribute to headaches, so make sure you're drinking enough water throughout the day.

  • Practice relaxation techniques: Stress and tension can worsen headaches. Try incorporating relaxation techniques like deep breathing exercises or meditation into your daily routine.

  • Get enough rest: Fatigue can exacerbate migraines and headaches. Aim for regular sleep patterns and prioritize getting enough restful sleep each night.

  • Consider alternative therapies: Some pregnant women find relief through acupuncture or prenatal massage therapy. However, always consult with your healthcare provider before trying any new treatments.

  • Manage morning sickness: Nausea and vomiting can intensify headache symptoms. Eating small, frequent meals throughout the day, avoiding trigger foods or smells, and staying hydrated may help manage morning sickness.

Remember to discuss these strategies with your healthcare provider before implementing them during pregnancy to ensure they are safe for you and your baby.

Advil should help. I do believe you can take it this early in your pregnancy but I would check up on it first beforehand or call a pharmacy/OB. I had it throughout 2 of my pregnancies. The sickness is completely normal if you talk to your OB hell probably prescribe you something for it which I've had and it does help alot just remember to take them cause if not it will suck throughout the day/the next day. I took them at night so I didnt have to wake up feeling sick. The headaches are normal. You probably need to drink more water or stay away from stress
