I am 5.5 weeks pregnant and experiencing brownish spotting, about 1-2 ml, once a day for a minute and then it stops. Today is the third day of this occurrence. Should I be concerned?

It's usually ok to spot in the first trimester, if it is a dark colour it's probably your last period old blood.. but if it fresh, pink or red and becomes heavy then concern.. GL

I would call the obgyn to be on the safe side and see what they say. I had that happen to me recently where I had light spotting for one day. I called the doctor and he said if the bleeding continued, became heavier, or the cramping got worse (I had light cramping) to go to the E.R. But that everything was probably okay, and to try not to worry. It stopped, so I think everything is fine. Apparently it can be caused by implantation bleeding, sometimes by sex, or unfortunately could sometimes be a sign of a miscarriage. So I think it would be best to let your doctor know and see what they say to be on the safe side--but everything is probably okay.

It's fine... It's because your body is still adjusting ... For the first trimester it will happen right around the time you should be on your period. Don't freak out all is good... Some women have periods for first trimester... If it alot is blood then I would call ob... Good luck

As long as you havnt had alot of bleeding since it started or before it started you should be okay. Sounds like spotting to me which is completely normal in the beginning of a pregnancy
