Hi Doctor, I am currently 11 weeks pregnant and I have not been able to feel my baby's heartbeat. Should I be concerned about this? Is it normal?

It is important to note that at 11 weeks of pregnancy, feeling your baby's heartbeat is not typically possible. At this stage, the baby's heart is still very small and may not be strong enough for you to feel its movements. Additionally, the position of the placenta can also affect your ability to detect the heartbeat.

However, if you are concerned about the well-being of your baby or have any other symptoms such as severe abdominal pain or bleeding, it is always best to consult with your healthcare provider. They can perform an ultrasound or Doppler test to check on the baby's heartbeat and ensure everything is progressing normally.

Remember that every pregnancy is unique, and some women may start feeling their baby's movements earlier than others. It is common for first-time mothers to feel these movements closer to 20 weeks of pregnancy.

In summary, not feeling your baby's heartbeat at 11 weeks is generally not a cause for concern. However, if you have any worries or unusual symptoms, it is always best to reach out to your healthcare provider for reassurance and guidance.

Im not a dr...but, if its your first baby you probably wont feel kicks until 18-20weeks. And youll never feel babys heart beating. You can hear it from this time nd on, with a doppler. You can buy one for home use or have it down at the drs.
