Congratulations on your first pregnancy! It's an exciting time filled with anticipation and preparation. Here are some essential tips to help you navigate this new journey:

  • Must-haves: Start by creating a checklist of items you'll need during pregnancy and after the baby arrives. These may include maternity clothes, a comfortable mattress or pillow for better sleep, prenatal vitamins recommended by your doctor, a supportive bra, and comfortable shoes.

  • Budgeting: Plan your finances carefully to accommodate the expenses that come with pregnancy and parenthood. Consider factors like medical bills, prenatal care visits, delivery costs (if not covered by insurance), baby essentials such as diapers and formula (if needed), childcare expenses if applicable, and any adjustments to your income during maternity leave.

  • Registries: Setting up a baby registry is an excellent way to let friends and family know what you need. Research different stores or online platforms that offer registry services. Include items like baby clothes in various sizes, nursery furniture, feeding supplies (bottles or breastfeeding accessories), diapering essentials (diapers/wipes), bath products, and safety equipment.

  • Dietary needs: Consult with your healthcare provider about maintaining a healthy diet during pregnancy. Focus on consuming nutrient-rich foods like fruits, vegetables, lean proteins (chicken/fish/tofu), whole grains (brown rice/quinoa), dairy products or alternatives (milk/yogurt/cheese), and plenty of water. Avoid raw or undercooked meats/seafood/eggs/unpasteurized dairy products as they may pose risks.

  • Symptoms management: Pregnancy comes with various symptoms, some of which can be uncomfortable. Nausea, fatigue, mood swings, and backaches are common. To manage these symptoms, try eating small, frequent meals; getting plenty of rest; practicing relaxation techniques like deep breathing or prenatal yoga; and seeking support from your partner or a support group.

Remember to consult your healthcare provider throughout your pregnancy for personalized advice and guidance. Enjoy this special time as you prepare for the arrival of your little one!

I am very happy you have this app. Maximize it and also get the book "everywoman" by Derek Llewellyn-Jones read it chapter by chapter as though you will be writing an exam.

Register for your antenatal with a trusted antenatal service provider in your area(government preferable), and see your doctors as and when due, you will do great!

My first also came with mixed feelings and excitements but it was memorable and great. This is my second.
