I am a type 1 diabetic with a physical disability and I am also 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant. I have a scan on 11th Feb for an early scan, is this normal?
Artificial Intelligence Health Assistant's Answer

It is not uncommon for women with diabetes, especially type 1 diabetes, to have early scans during pregnancy. This is because diabetes can increase the risk of certain complications, such as birth defects or growth problems in the baby. Additionally, having a physical disability may require additional monitoring during pregnancy. Early scans can help detect any potential issues early on so that appropriate care can be provided. It is important to follow your healthcare provider's recommendations and attend all scheduled appointments to ensure the best possible outcome for both you and your baby.
